As early as 2016, the GATE Association, together with the ADV, brought the airport industry closer together for the first time. The innovation forum, called GATE FUTURE, was so successful that a new edition was held in 2018 and representatives of German airports and their most important suppliers formulated joint visions on much-discussed industry topics. This year, which presented our industry with one of the greatest challenges in its history, we will once again invite you to share your insights of the past months with us and, in addition, to fill it with forward-looking ideas and exciting projects before 2020. We are pleased to invite you to the third GATE FUTURE on September 9th 2020 in Berlin.
Several workshops will provide you with the appropriate forum to exchange ideas with executives on the topics of security, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and baggage handling systems at eye level. Visionary approaches will also find a hearing with us. This year, we would also like to invite you to a free workshop, the topic of which will be determined with the participants on the day of the event.
Be there and be part of a top-class group of participants who together will open up future-oriented perspectives for the airport industry.
Members of the ADV and IDRF can attend the event free of charge.Member companies of GATE receive a free ticket.

Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence already improved today complex airport processes. The use of neural networks optimises for example the automatic baggage recognition. We're having a discussion,
which applications are already possible today and which solutions we need in the future.

Checkpoints Before and After COVID-19
New screening technologies increase the security and are increasingly used for optimization of airport processes. Reliable processes for identification during security checks to promote for example the faster throughput. Which trend-setting concepts exist that complement these applications, and also meet the immediate requirements?
Cognitec Systems GmbH/ Smith Detection GmbH
Luggage - by far the best
Always faster, even more reliable - the requirements for baggage handling systems are high. And since COVID-19, also, during drop-off and at the baggage carousel sufficient distance to be observed. In the workshop we therefore deal with innovations such as contactless check-in, UV radiation, and the for the disinfection of luggage and the Social Distancing at the baggage claim.
Beumer Group/ Sick AG/ Materna IPS GmbH
Autonomous Driving
Winning in all areas of the airport the importance of autonomous driving. We discuss solutions for luggage transport, for the control of passenger buses and clearing and tanker vehicles, which will be standard equipment in the future will be used. We are not only concerned with with the chances of autonomous driving, but keep
possible risks in the process.

Sustainability
A climate friendly, CO2 neutral, quiet and sustainable aviation industry is the declared aim of the EU and Federal politics. The development of new forms of propulsion as well as environmentally friendly aircraft technologies play a major role and will be discussed in this workshop. Green hydrogen, as a helpful and necessary bridging technology, will also be in the focus of attention.
