We are pleased to welcome Minimax as a new member of GATE. With this addition, our network gains a partner that brings more than a century of certified fire protection expertise into the aviation community — and a perspective that is increasingly relevant for everyone operating, planning or developing airport infrastructure.

Airports are among the most complex environments in modern infrastructure. Various types of buildings such as terminals or fuel storage all carry their own elevated fire risks, and they all need to operate safely around the clock. As critical infrastructure, airports are subject to strict safety and compliance standards. The systems protecting them must keep pace with how the industry evolves. This is exactly the space in which Minimax operates.

Minimax develops certified fire protection systems tailored to the specific needs of airport operators. Typical applications include aircraft hangars, terminal buildings, baggage handling systems and adjacent car parks, with measures covering both indoor and outdoor airport areas in line with applicable standards. Within this environment, large-scale facilities, sensitive technical systems and elevated fire risks related to fuels and oils call for advanced, proven solutions — from system design and installation

through to service and maintenance.

What makes Minimax particularly interesting for our network is the breadth of its offering. Minimax is a true one-stop-shop in fire protection. From a portfolio perspective, the company delivers a full range of fire protection technologies — water-based, foam and gas-based suppression systems, oxygen reduction, fire detection technology and suppression control — all developed and produced in-house, ensuring every component is perfectly coordinated. From a service perspective, everything is delivered from a single source with end-to-end responsibility. The company captures this in a simple promise: Experts in Fire Protection.

Behind every certified solution stands rigorous testing. The Minimax Fire Research Center in Bad Oldesloe — the largest of its kind in Europe — gives customers the opportunity to validate and optimize fire safety concepts in a practical setting. Full-scale fire tests can be conducted under realistic conditions for any scenario and any type of fire suppression system. This kind of facility is a meaningful asset for the wider aviation community; the Minimax experts who operate the Fire Research Center are happy to advise GATE members and prospective clients alike.

Importantly, the Minimax offering is not limited to airports themselves. The comprehensive fire protection portfolio can be tailored to any GATE member's individual needs, across every industry — which makes the company an interesting point of contact well beyond the runway.

As part of an international corporate group, protecting people, assets and the environment is at the core of the Minimax business — a perspective that fits well with the conversations we are having across GATE.

Minimax has joined GATE to actively contribute to the network, to facilitate professional dialogue, and to listen and learn from the people shaping the future of aviation. We look forward to many productive exchanges ahead — and to the contribution Minimax will make to a safer, more resilient and more sustainable industry.
