Already in the run-up the 23rd inter airport Europe promised to be a special fair. For many GATE members the show was the first attendance since the beginning of the crisis. Expectations were different, but everyone was looking forward to the personal meetings with customers and business partners. GATE President Kay Bärenfänger was given the opportunity to address greetings to exhibitors and visitors at the start of the show. Together with Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of the trade fair company Mack Brooks, and Ralph Beisel, Chief Executive Officer of ADV, he opened the trade fair with the motto "Runway to Recovery".
As part of the opening, Mack Brooks also presented the inter airport Europe Innovation Awards. GATE member Dynell secured the coveted award in the terminal category.
Kay Bärenfänger, Ralph Beisel and Nicola Hamann also met again at the GATE booth in Hall B5 to discuss future projects. GATE's representative was always well attended on all four days of the fair, as many members who did not have their own booth used the set-up for their customer meetings. Even though there were slightly fewer visitors in total, all exhibitors were very satisfied. Also for GATE the participation was worthwhile. Managing Director Jens Reinhard welcomed numerous companies at the booth who showed interest in becoming members. In total, the trade show attracted 10,000 participants, who exchanged information about new trends and developments in the airport industry.
