Johannes Sittig is new Vice President Terminal

As the terminal with ticket counters, check-ins, security gates, retail and a variety of services is the heart of an airport, the GATE Association decided to represent this area in the presidium. To support the association's work and the Vice Presidents Apron, Technology and Innovation, GATE created the new position of Vice President Terminal.

At the general meeting Johannes Sittig, Business Development Manager at Sittig Technologies, presented himself as a candidate for the new position and received a unanimous vote from the floor. "I am very grateful for the trust placed in me by the members and the presidium. Together with the members, I have the goal of developing holistic and forward-looking terminal concepts with sustainable, digital and integrated solutions - together as a pacemaker for innovations," Johannes Sittig commented on his election. At the family-owned company Sittig, a leading provider of software and special components for public address systems, evacuation systems and complex IT networks, the 27-year-old with a Master of Science in Technology & Management is responsible for strategic orientation, cooperations and sales. Previously, he was a consultant for digital transformation, change management & process optimization and has worked for start-ups in Germany and Silicon Valley.

"With Johannes Sittig, we have gained a Vice President who can drive innovation based on his professional expertise and who also brings a high level of commitment," adds Kay Bärenfänger, President of GATE.

Together with Vice President Apron, Patricia Vasconcelos, Christoph Oftring, Vice President Technology, and Jan Reh, Vice President Innovation, the new Vice President Terminal will promote knowledge transfer within the association and help shape the airport industry of tomorrow.
