“Better Queuing” with new GATE member Via Guide

What are passengers usually faced with at the airport? Waiting!

Queuing at the check-in counter, a long line at the security checkpoint and often you also have to plan a little time after landing. To improve the passenger journey, airports are increasingly working on improving waiting processes. And new GATE member Via Guide is offering its expertise for such optimization.

The company is part of the family-run Cronenberg Group from the Sauerland region of Germany and a leading provider of guidance systems.  The solutions are used wherever people are waiting. "We have been manufacturing our Beltrac belt posts, which can be found in cinemas, hotels and airports, at our company site in Arnsberg since 2004," reports Andreas Schnieder, Managing Director at Via Guide.

Initially, the company delivered to small airports, but the GATE member is now the main supplier of passenger flow systems at Fraport. "We also have a strong presence in France and ensure optimized queue management at 80% of airports," adds Product Manager Thomas Tippl. The company achieves this not only by means of the posts and partitions, which are manufactured to the highest quality standards, but also with  the Smart Queue, which is the concept of an automated queue to ensure a high throughput, as well as Virtual Queuing,.

"Legs have a mind of their own - Via Guide's mission is to control them and automate the passenger flow. To do this, we first examine the processes and then digitize them if necessary," reports Andreas Schnieder.

In order to achieve optimum results for customers, Via Guide is always on site during installation and commissioning.

The company has an international network that enables it to identify and develop new trends in the field of passenger guidance at an early stage. "The exchange with other potential partners was also one of the reasons for joining the GATE association. There are many member companies with whom we would like to enter into a professional dialog," explains Thomas Tippl.
